ACCREDITATIONS
		JCAHO Accreditation La Familia received a three-year reaccreditation from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) during summer 2004. This is in recognition of La Familia’s having met JCAHO’s rigorous measurement standards, which are met by only 15% of the organizations that apply for accreditation. JCAHO measures organizations against national standards set by healthcare professionals. ADA Accreditation In April 2002, the American Diabetes Association (ADA) notified the Sangre de Cristo Community Health Partnership and the Self-Management Diabetes Education of La Familia Medical Center Program of its having been recognized by the ADA for Quality Self-Management Education. This recognition indicates that the ADA recognizes this education service as meeting the national standards for diabetes self-management education at the ADA’s many sites.
