		IT SHOULDN’T HURT TO BREATHE At La Familia, Asthma Promotoras educate asthma patients and their families about the use of medications, identification of triggers that lead to attacks, measurement of peak flows, and use of a nebulizer. In 2002, La Familia Medical Center joined a national collaborative to study the effects of and treatments for childhood asthma. This was in connection with Asthma Collaborative 2002, a project of American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and the national Initiative for Children’s Healthcare Quality.
