IMMUNIZATION
		PROTECT YOUR BABY—IMMUNIZE! Education about the importance of immunizing children is begun with the mother when the child is born. To facilitate this process, the immunization Promotora distributes booklets printed in English and Spanish that explain why immunization is critical for the child and the health of the community. Reminders are sent out to the parents by the immunization Promotora when their child is due to be immunized. Follow-up reminders are sent if parents fail to make an appointment within a month of the first reminder. Our immunization program has been recognized by the State of New Mexico Department of Health for 100% coverage of babies needing immunizations.
