Christopher A. McCaffrey-Boss

DDS

Dr. Boss just marked 25 years as a licensed dentist. He goes by Dr. Boss, or Christoph, as he became a dentist before having kids and hyphenating his name. He grew up in the Chicago suburbs and then had his own private practice there for 15 years. In 2015, the desire to have new experiences led Dr. Boss to work in Utah on the Navajo Nation and later in an FQHC clinic in Mora, NM.

So much changed with COVID, so in 2020 he decided to move to Santa Fe for the conveniences of city life and also so that his two young adult children could live with him and have opportunities here.

Returning to the Public Health environment at La Familia feels great as a way to make a difference for patients who may have less access to healthcare, and also to have an amazing team of professionals to work with. Everyone has been so nice and supportive here.

On weekends, Dr. Boss tends to a flock of Navajo-Churro Sheep. He started his flock in 2017 with the help of experienced shepherds and continues to learn about their history in the Southwest, their wool quality, and markets for wool, for lamb and mutton. The variety of colors is also exciting, especially as lambing season approaches.
