Juan “Sebas” Soche
Juan “Sebas” Soche, M.D. (UNM School of Medicine)
Dr. Soche considers himself fortunate to call New Mexico home since moving here when he was seven years old. Originally from Colombia, the community his family moved into embraced, guided, and made them feel welcome. With this nourishment of support, his interest in healthcare arose while at Valley High School in Albuquerque, and as an undergrad at the University of New Mexico while he was a health apprentice in a clinic that served a large immigrant and underserved population. He considers this one of the more significant clinical experiences he has had, and plans on continuing to work with these populations.
As a medical student at the UNM School of Medicine, Dr. Soche was exposed to family medicine and looks forward to having days filled with a broad range of clinical topics, as well as serving the various age groups and stages of life. He is excited to be at the UNM Santa Fe Family Medicine program, ready to further his education and interests in addiction, international, preventative, and rural medicine.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Soche enjoys spending time with family, playing soccer, photo-shopping, videography, and trying to complete V2-bouldering problems in less than a hundred tries!
