Dr. Brendan Vahey
Over the last 15 years, Dr. Brendan R. Vahey has worked in both private dental practices and public health organizations in Colorado and New Mexico. Locally, he has worked mostly in public health as a general dentist with Kewa Pueblo Health Corporation and La Familia Health. He believes strongly in patient-centered care, robust access to healthcare, and that training the next generation of public health dentists and support staff through La Familia’s educational partnerships with New York University and Santa Fe Community College are key to both of these concepts.
He holds an Associate Fellowship with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, a Master’s Degree in Implant Dentistry from the Federal University of Santa Catarina-Brazil, a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Fort Lewis College. He has published within various dental research journals about implant dentistry and brings a wealth of knowledge in public health back to La Familia Health. Additionally, he has demonstrated his commitment to healthcare access through international service work in Brazil, Mexico, Guatemala, and Colombia. When he is not working, he enjoys a multitude of outdoor endurance activities, growing the most delicious food in his home garden, and spending time with his wife.
