Kim Nguyen

MD
Physician
As someone who studied English in college, I've always been interested in personal narratives. What I love most about primary care is the privilege of learning about other people's lives. Coming from a family of Vietnamese refugees, I know that culture and life experience can differ so much among people who live in the same community. I feel incredibly lucky to meet patients from diverse backgrounds, from whom I can learn, and develop long term relationships with them.

Dr. Nguyen was born and raised in California, went to the East Coast for nearly a decade for college and medical school, then returned to the Bay Area for residency and worked there for five years at an FQHC with an incredible work community. She is especially interested in integrating mental health and addiction medicine into primary care.

After spending her whole life on one coast or another, Dr. Nguyen felt compelled to move to the Southwest for its open landscapes and opportunity to provide care in areas where there is a scarcity of providers. She loves books and mountains — she usually reads a book a week, and in her spare time she is almost always rock climbing because you can climb in New Mexico all year round!
